Set in the high desert of Northern New Mexico, Casita de Arrebol invites you to slow your pace and reconnect with what matters most. Here, beauty lives in stillness — morning light across the hills, the scent of piñon, and the sound of wind through sage.

Guests describe arriving and immediately feeling a sense of calm — “a peaceful escape,” “a place that feels like home,” “one of those spaces you never want to leave.”

That feeling is the heart of Arrebol: quiet luxury shaped by land, light, and care.

Built from strawbale, the casita was designed to live in harmony with its surroundings. The thick walls and deep-set windows frame views that change with the light, creating a sense of connection to the landscape beyond.

Inside, natural textures blend with modern comfort, featuring radiant-heated floors, handmade ceramics, and furnishings carefully selected for their purpose. We have been fortunate to collaborate with local artists, both through commissioned works and art created in reflection of their time here. Each piece tells part of the story of this place, its stillness, its color, and its spirit.

As one guest shared, “Every detail feels intentional and infused with care.”

The kitchen is designed for unhurried living, fully equipped for simple meals, long breakfasts, and slow rituals that start the day with intention.

You will find quality cookware, a Ratio coffee maker, pour-over and French press sets, a Fellow kettle, coffee from Corvus Coffee, and homemade tea blends curated for rest and reflection.

For those inspired by the landscape, we have included art supplies, hiking poles, a backpack, and extra throws and pillows for time spent outdoors.

As guests often note, “The kitchen had everything, and somehow, exactly what we needed.”

Each room invites you to exhale.

Soft natural linens, diffused light, and windows that open to the desert quiet create an atmosphere of deep rest.

The bathrooms balance simplicity and comfort, with walk-in showers, organic bath products, and the subtle scent of rosemary and mint.

At night, the stars stretch endlessly across the sky, and the silence feels complete.

Guests describe it best: “Peaceful, restorative, and more beautiful than we imagined.”

Step outside and the landscape opens in every direction. Fifty-two private acres of juniper and sage surround the casita, offering room to wander, reflect, and simply be. Walk the labyrinth at sunrise, sit beside the patiofountain, or watch as light moves slowly across the hills and settles into dusk.

The property connects you to the landscapes that inspired Georgia O’Keeffe — Ghost Ranch, Plaza Blanca, Ojo Caliente, and Abiquiú Lake are all within easy reach. Many guests find they don’t need to go far, finding quiet beauty right outside the door.

Casita de Arrebol welcomes both two- and four-legged travelers. For many guests, sharing the experience with their dogs is part of the joy: open space to roam, trails to explore, and cozy corners to rest at the end of the day. This is a place where everyone can feel at home in the land.

“We hiked straight from the door and felt completely alone with the land.”
